Automatic Blending System

An Automatic Blending System is an integrated solution for precise multi-component dosing and mixing in lubricant, adhesive, coating, and fine chemical production. BJVP offers three main blending processes: Automatic Batch Blending (ABB), Simultaneous Metering Blending (SMB), and In-Line Blending (ILB).

ABB provides batch blending with sequential dosing, heating, agitation, and batch control. SMB enables precise, high-throughput in-line blending, while ILB supports continuous blending. Load cells or mass flow meters ensure accurate dosing, while mixing and recirculation promote uniformity. BJVP offers customized PLC-controlled solutions with optional DDU and VI dissolving system integration.

BJVP Automatic Blending System

ABB Batch Blending System

Small batches, multiple formulations, and high-value drum additives, with DDU decanting and pigging systems.

Advantages of BJVP Blending System

Precise dosing, flexible recipes, integrated processing, and pipeline residue recovery for batch, synchronized, and continuous blending.

Three Blending Processes

Choose ABB batch blending, SMB simultaneous metering, or ILB continuous in-line blending. Solutions cover flexible, multi-recipe production and high-capacity continuous operations.

Accurate Dosing and Consistent Quality

Load cells or high-accuracy mass flow meters provide precise measurement and controlled additive ratios, helping maintain consistent product specifications from batch to batch.

Fast Recipe Changes and Residue Recovery

ABB systems can integrate ball-sweeping and pigging systems to clean pipelines and recover residual materials during product changeovers, reducing waste and cross-contamination risk.

Integration with Upstream Dissolving and Decanting

Integrate VI dissolving and DDU additive decanting systems to connect additive preparation, decanting, precision dosing, and automatic blending, reducing intermediate transfers and improving overall process efficiency.

Advanced Automation

PLC-based recipe management, automatic dosing, interlocks, and batch data logging reduce manual intervention and operational errors. Integration with MES and DCS is available.

Skid-Mounted Integration for Faster Delivery

Piping, instruments, valves, and control systems are integrated into packaged skids, with factory preassembly and testing. This reduces on-site installation work, shortens commissioning time, and lowers civil engineering requirements.

ABB Automatic Batch Blending Vessel

Automatic Batch Blending System

The ABB Automatic Batch Blending System uses a vessel-based batch process with load-cell weighing. According to the batch recipe, base oil, standard additives, and drum-packaged additives from the DDU system are added in sequence, followed by heating and agitation under batch control.

The system features ball-sweeping structures and can integrate with a Pigging System to clean pipelines and recover residual materials. Accurate micro-additive dosing and flexible recipe changes make ABB suitable for premium lubricants, specialty adhesives, and multi-grade products, particularly at small to medium production capacities.

Simultaneous Metering Blending System

SMB Simultaneous Metering and ILB Continuous Blending Systems

SMB (Simultaneous Metering Blender) uses precision flow meters to dose multiple components simultaneously for high-throughput, accurate in-line blending, reducing the need for large tanks. It suits medium to large production capacities with stable formulations.

ILB (In-Line Blender) uses static mixers for uninterrupted continuous blending, making it ideal for large-scale production with stable formulations and low unit costs.

Key differences: ABB suits small batches and frequent recipe changes; SMB delivers precise, synchronized dosing at high throughput; ILB supports continuous, large-scale production.

SMB Simultaneous Metering Blending System

Uses flow meters for precise, synchronized in-line dosing and continuous blending, delivering stable, high-throughput performance.

Automatic Blending System FAQs

Answers to common questions about ABB, SMB, and ILB processes, dosing methods, system selection, and auxiliary equipment.

What Are the Main Differences Between ABB, SMB, and ILB?

ABB suits small batches and frequent recipe changes. SMB provides synchronized, high-throughput dosing. ILB supports continuous, large-scale production with relatively stable formulations.

Does an ABB Blending System Require DDU and VI Dissolving Systems?

No. Both are optional. DDU handles drum-packaged additives, while VI dissolving systems prepare solid VI polymers for blending. Ready-to-use liquid additives can be fed directly into ABB.

What Are the Differences Between Weighing and Mass Flow Metering?

Weighing suits accurate batch dosing, especially for small additive quantities. Mass flow meters support synchronized, continuous dosing at high flow rates. Selection depends on formulation, accuracy requirements, and operating conditions.

What Do Ball-Sweeping and Pigging Systems Do in ABB Blending?

They recover residual materials from pipelines during product changeovers, reducing material waste and cross-contamination risk.

How Do I Choose Between ABB, SMB, and ILB?

Choose based on production capacity, recipe change frequency, and dosing requirements. ABB suits small batches and frequent changes, SMB suits high-throughput synchronized dosing, and ILB suits large-scale production with stable formulations.

What Level of Automation Can a Blending System Achieve?

Features can include recipe management, automatic dosing, timed agitation, batch reporting, alarms, and interlocks. SCADA, DCS, and MES integration is also available.
